The Kakadu Plum (Terminalia ferdinandiana) is found in the tropical North of Australia from the West through to Arnhem Land. It is a small slender plant with clumps of small (2cm wide) light green plums. It is these plums which made the plant so special for skin care.
Key benefits of the Kakadu Plum for the skin:
- Boosts collagen production

- Brightens and prevents skin discolouration
- Protects the skin for the environment

The Kakadu Plum has the highest natural concentration of vitamin C with 2300–3150 mg per100 grams and can be up to 5000mg per 100 grams. To show how high these levels are to put in contrast with the other well known source of vitamin C the orange, which typically has 50mg per 100grams.
What makes vitamin C so good for your skin?
Vitamin C is necessary for your skins collagen production and collagen is essential for smooth, subtle and firm skin. Vitamin C is also a powerful anti-oxidant that neutralises free radicals in the skin. Free radicals remove electrons from your skin, causing damage to the skins DNA and speed up the aging process.
While Vitamin C has demonstrated itself as a skin super hero, not all Vitamin C is created equally. Many products on the market contain artificial vitamin C, this is not our approach - all our Vitamin C comes directly from the plant.

It's not just Vitamin C you benefit from with the Kakadu Plum. The plum contains many other powerful nutrients that deliver benefit to your skin, including Gallic Acid - Phenolic Acid, Ellagic Acid - Phenolic Acid and Anthocyanin - Flavonoid. These are all powerful antioxidants that deliver hydration, brightening, healing, protection, firming and anti-aging to your skin.
